Experiences and Recommendations of the Project Management 2003 to 2006

In the years 2003-2006 the Danish Municipality of Kalundborg with its 50.000 inhabitants has been a partner in the project Science Team K.
The aim of Science Team K was to increase the interest of young people in science and technology. 2500 students from primary schools and upper secondary schools in the Kalundborg area have participated along with their science teachers.
The elements of Science Team K were:
• Training of teachers
• Networking between institutions
• Support to new education equipment and activities
• Evaluating and sharing experiences
Financially Science Team K has been supported by the Lundbeck Foundation - nearly 9 millions. DKK have been donated. H. Lundbeck A/S is an international pharmaceutical company engaged in research and development, production, marketing and sale of drugs for the treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders.

A summary report based on the combined experiences of participating teachers, school leaders, researchers and project managers is available.

The project has been monitored and evaluated by the Danish University of Education. This makes Science Team K one of the best-documented project of it kind in the OECD countries. The summary of the evaluation report can be downloaded.
